Classes are taught by local teachers following tutorials written by The Digital Scrapbook Teacher especially for the Digi-Degree series of classes.

Digital Scrapbooking 99#A Organizing Your Digital Scrapbook Supplies and Photos (Windows Only) (2.5 hours)

Suggested Class Fee $30 + Optional Organizer Back-Up DVD (see note below)  

This is the most important class you will ever take for digital scrapbooking! If you can’t find your photos and supplies in your computer you’ll be frustrated and won’t accomplish anything.

Organizing your scrapbook supplies and photos sounds boring but it’s easy and essential to retain your sanity when dealing with thousands of digital photos and digital scrapbook elements.

If you’re just starting out digital scrapbooking this is the perfect class for you to take. If you’ve already accumulated a lot of digital photos and supplies it’s not too late!

Organizational tips, tricks, and theory will be discussed that be utilized in other organizational programs such as iPhoto and ACDSee but we will not demonstrate those programs in class.

Learn the essentials of digital scrapbooking with Photoshop Elements. Even if you think you already know the basics you’ll be surprised how much you’ll learn in this class. We will complete a quick page in class.

Learn how to:

  • Open your photos & digital scrapbooking supplies in Photoshop Elements from the Organizer and from folders stored in your computer.
  • Easily customize Photoshop Elements to make digital scrapbooking easier.
  • Understand the different file types available in Photoshop Elements and how to use them.
  • Add photos to a quick page.
  • Add text to a quick page.
  • Match the color of your journaling text to a color on your scrapbook page.
  • Recolor digital scrapbooking supplies.
  • Rotate images and individual layers.
  • Work with layers-Don’t worry it’s much easier than you think!
  • Save and store your finished projects in various file types and understand why this is so important.

You’ve learned the essentials of completing a quick page so now we’ll cover the basics of how to make a digital page from scratch. We will complete one page in class.

Learn how to:

  • Set up a new scrapbook page in any size.
  • Move and arrange multiple photos and digital scrapbook supplies on a scrapbook page using different techniques.
  • Crop an image on a scrapbook page.
  • Mat a photo using several different techniques.
  • Add drop shadows that look realistic and how to apply them quickly to all layers.
  • Add text to your page using two different methods
  • Easily resize and change fonts for journaling.
  • Link, merge, & hide layers.
  • Work with multiple layers and layer styles.
  • Easily customize additional settings in Photoshop Elements to make digital scrapbooking easier.
  • Save and store your finished projects in various file types.

Are you all caught up on your scrapping or do you have piles of photos waiting to find a place in your scrapbooks? Have you tried to follow a sketch in a magazine only to end up frustrated? A digital template is a FAST and EASY way to make a perfectly aligned page in minutes.

Learn how to:

  • Make a simple scrapbook page with a 12”x 12” template.
  • Make a double page layout with a 24” x 12” template and the tricks involved in printing it when you’re finished.
  • Make a 12” x 12” scrapbook page with an 8 ½ x 11 template to make hybrid scrapbooking easy.
  • Use an edge template.
  •  Finish a page in less than 5 minutes with a little practice!

You’ve learned how to make a quick page and digital page, now learn how to add traditional embellishments to your page and make a hybrid page. 

Learn how to:

  • Use your photos and digital paper to make custom backgrounds and titles.
  • Apply filters to photos and digital scrapbooking supplies.
  • Adjust the opacity of photos and digital scrapbooking supplies.
  • Work with multiple layers and layer styles.
  • Add traditional embellishments so that they are in the right proportion to your page.
  • Add custom shapes to a page such as talk bubbles, etc.
  • Use text paths to print your journaling in a shape.
  • Save and store your finished projects in various file types.
  • Reinforce the skills you learned in 100#A, 100#B, & 100#C

Brushes are the equivalent of a digital rubber stamp but with many more advantages. With a digital brush you can stamp in any size and color and they’re neatly hidden in your computer requiring no special storage boxes.
In this class we’ll make a scrapbook page using brushes and you’ll learn how to:

  • Load/Install brushes
  • Stamp Brushes in different sizes and colors
  • Use special techniques with your brushes
  • Make and save your own brush
  • Use brushes to make your own scrapbook  paper
